The “No Excuses” List

The “Reasons List” could also be called the “No Excuses” list. You know that exercise is important or you would not be thinking about your fitness program at all. You also understand the role good nutrition plays in staying healthy or you would have a kitchen cupboard full of cookies.

The question becomes one of how to stay motivated on a Dallas fitness program. The answer lies in understanding that our thoughts drive our behavior. When you are exercising and telling yourself “it’s doing no good” or “this will not help me”, it is easy to get off-track. Your negative thoughts become the catalyst for bad behavior such as quitting a fitness program.

The key is to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones that keep the benefits you are getting in the forefront of your thoughts. People have plenty of reasons for staying fit. The ones that appear on your list are determined by your personal needs. Your personal Dallas fitness reasons list will probably have over 20 items, because you need to be as detailed as possible. You should not just say, “I want to get fit.” You should say, “I want to get fit so I can improve my natural insulin production and eliminate a Type II diabetes medical condition.”

The ability to stay fit relies on you staying motivated. Staying motivated is often a function of seeing the direct and detailed benefits of exercise and nutrition. After you create your Dallas fitness list, you can then keep that list in mind as you make food choices, decide to attend the personal training session, or even walk the stairs rather than ride the elevator.

Staying on track is much easier when you keep your thoughts on the positive reasons and benefits as you break that sweat for good health.
